Anno Domini Multi-Festival – Italy

Muraldo D.C. has the honour of being invited to take part in this wonderfully inspiring Christian festival held within the beautiful 15th and 16th century building complex of The Oropa Santuary (Biella) nestle within the amazing surrounding mountains peaks.

Each day there was the opportunity to attend communal prayer activities, to attend a variety of workshops: mime, motivation, visual art: Iconography, theatre, vocal training, dance and Christianity (taught by Muraldo D.C.), discussion forums, helpful talent evaluations and a day of youth performances on the Saturday (not part of the Annodomini Multifestival but artists were generously encourage to support this event) in addition to performances by wonderful artists from around the world every evening rounded off by everyone (with enough energy left!) getting together to have fun together before calling it a night.

Muraldo D.C.’s first workshop comprised a talk on the subject of Dance and Christianity including a brief history of dance in the Church and an opportunity to learn the vocabulary of one the company dance pieces exploring the symbolism within the movement. The second began with a recap and the opportunity for the class to develop their own dance piece set to a gospel song chosen by one of the students.

For Muraldo D.C., it was a joy to be with loving and likeminded people who all love God with a passion to see the furtherance of His Kingdom. We made many news friends whom we cannot wait to see again.

The company performed on two evenings, presenting a total of 10 pieces of which 6 where being performed for the first time. The response was overwhelming. God really used us to touch so many hearts and in so doing touch our hearts too.

We must thank again Aurelio Pitino and Sister Carmella Santoro for being such warm and caring people. And I know that God is greatly blessing them for all their hard work and dedication.

We are really looking forward to participating again in this God-inspired, awesome event.

The next festival will be 30th June to 4th July 2005. We would like to encourage you to get yourself over to Italy to attend. I promise you, you will not be disappointed! (See www.annodomini.org for more details)
