Dance Around the World Conference

Dance lovers, the Dance Around the World Conference will be held this comig Sunday at Cecil Sharp House Camden ( see flyer below).

It will only be the second time that a conference has been made part of this brilliant event where there is an opportunity to enjoy workshops and performances of dances from all over the world! The workshops and performances happen on the following weekend but everything kicks off with the conference with talks given by extremely interesting and entertaining speakers, experts in their own fields of dance.

Out of Africa

If you have any interest in dance this event has to be a must!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Quadfest 2010 – A Success

I would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who supported Quadfest last Saturday through performance, working behind the scenes or simply attending. Much  appreciated.

The feedback had been great with the annual comment on the need for more audience but this year there has been more promises of individuals resolved to actively encouraging others to attend for next year which is always a boost.

As many of us may be aware no matter how much advertising is done it is really word  of mouth that is the most effective so if you enjoyed Quadfest 10, come along next year and bring as many others as you can!

Next year’s confirmed date is the 16th June at the same venue as this year, The Dominion Arts and Education Centre, Southall. Now if your now saying ‘it too  far!!’ If you were going on a day out to Alton Towers would you not go because it too far? or if a friend was getting married outside of you borough would you not go because of that? or if you wanted to see a show would you not go because it’s in the West End and not in your area? No, so the same applies, Quadfest ’11  is in Southall and make it a day out for all the family, not only a fun day but a true celebration of Caribbean Culture!

This year we had very interesting stalls and we hope that there will be more  next year. We also had a raffle with the top prize of a free place on the Caribbean Dance Course in 2011 in addition to a day of free classes at our Saturday school, Keith Waithes latest CD and a bottle of rum. The person who won the top prize, one of the performing drummers, could not believe he’d won and could’nt stop smiling all night!!

Next year there will be a 50% off voucher of the cost of the Caribbean Dance  course awarded to the person who sells the most tickets for Quadfest ’12; so if you’ve always wanted to go on this course in the Caribbean this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for! There will also be a prize for the best traditional Caribbean costume on the night!

So put this date in your diary now and we will keep you up dated on the events that are planned in the lead up to next year’s event.

A DVD of this year’s event will soon be on sale, you will be notified when it is available.

God Bless,

Caroline

Welcome to the Muraldo D.C. website where you will find all the information about the company and our work. We have included information on all our performances and special events including Quadfest along with our classes and workshops.

Periodically there will be featured articles on dances from either Africa and the Caribbean and those who teach or dance these forms. As we are a Christian company, we are also including a special section what it means to live the life of a Christian and features on dance and christianity which we hope will be inspiring.
