Shona Muraldo-Parks

Shona, daughter of Caroline Muraldo and Connie Parks (also a professional dancer, ex Motionhouse, Yolanda Snaith among others) began attending dance rehearsals while still in her mum’s tummy and continued as a baby to attend Dance Co7 rehearsals in her Moses basket.

At 3yrs old she began dance classes in her own right at Wendy Foley’s, Hackney, learning ballroom and disco dance earning rosettes in both and she also began to learn a version of Caribbean quadrille from Jamaica.

Shona took part in her first public performance at the age of 5 in a group piece choreographed by her mum and continued to attended many different types of dance rehearsals and classes ranging from contemporary ballet to traditional dances from the Caribbean and Africa.

While attending Haggerston Girls School in Hackney, Shona represented her school in dance at SB2000 conferences and also at the Hackney schools annual dance festivals. She has also often performed and in more recent years began teaching, as a member of Muraldo D.C.


When she left school she went on to attend Hackney Community College achieving an ONC and a HNC in building studies. Shona is now studying towards a HND in building studies in Swansea at Swansea Institute of Higher Education. She intends to go on to Cardiff University to pursue her career in architecture. She nevertheless remains an active member of the company, continuing to work with the company both as a teacher and performer during breaks in the academic year.

Shona became a Born-again Christian at the tender age of 8 and has remained an active member the fellowships that she has attended ever since. She currently attends a local Baptist Church in Swansea where she is a member of the Gospel choir and is a Young leader helping to teach the Brownie pack of her church various activities.
